Shoppers will have just a day to scour stores across the town centre to find as many of the coloured masks as they can as part of the run up to the Kapow! event in Colchester's Castle park.

Those who find them will be entered into a special draw for a host of superhero prizes including two free tickets to Kapow! on September 2.

The Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation has launched the event with independent traders.

Nikki Bowdidge, Chief Executive and Founder, said "We are just a few months away from seeing superheroes descend on Castle Park to tackle our amazing obstacle course.

"Colchester is incredibly lucky to have a host of independent traders in the town centre and we wanted to celebrate their diversity. So together we have launched our superhero treasure hunt."

Shoppers can collect their maps from the Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation in Culver Square on saturday June 23rd.

From their, they will note down where they have found the special coloured masks before returning the form to the foundation stall, where they will be entered into the grand prize.

Plenty of traders are taking part from Darcey's Traditional Sweet Shop to Innes Cole and Red Lion Books.

Sjoppers will have to look out for Kapow! posters in shop windows to find all 13 of the stores taking part in the hunt.

Nikki said: "People will have just one day to scour Colchester town centre in the hopes of finding all of the masks.

" But it won't be easy. Each of the shops taking part will have their own coloured mask which they will be hiding in their store.

"People should look out for the balloons and posters as a clue for which shops are taking part."

"Shoppers will only be able to find them all by going into each shop or cafe and looking around".

Good luck everyone and don't forget to sign up for the Kapow event itself.
