Jacob’s Story
Jacob is 17 years old and has had a very difficult year – having been given a 5% chance of survival December 2022. He has Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and has been very poorly. He has had several cycles of chemotherapy resulting in him having a stem cell transplant last month.
Jacob has shown great strength of character, he has never given up and is always determined to look on the bright side. There is no doubt this positive mental attitude has helped him through this difficult time.
Jacob loves sports and used to play for his local football, rugby and cricket teams and he has really missed not being able to play and is looking forward to the day he has the physical ability to take these sports up again. For now, he will settle for being well enough to go and watch his teams play.
Jacob is looking to gradually improve his fitness in trying to recover from the physical impact AML has had upon him. He asked if we could get him an apple watch not only for communication but also to help him monitor his fitness, heart rate etc.
YOUR generosity helped us to buy an apple watch and get Jacob back on the road to fitness. This is the first step to getting him back into his sports teams.
