Saturday 26th February saw the return of the much loved Feather Ball. This is a major event on the Foundation’s calendar. After a break of a year, we wanted it to be bigger and better than ever and we didn’t disappoint. We came back with a bang!

The secret theme this year was The Greatest Showman and Braxted Park became a circus for the night. Guests were greeted by these cute and very interactive giraffes who entertained them during the drinks reception. The entertainment continued with contortionists, trapeze artists and a fantastic ringmaster who kept the evening running on time. Post-dinner entertainment saw a selection of sideshows where revellers could hook a duck, test their strength or try to win a coconut. Once the guests had tried their luck and won their fun prizes, they danced the night away to the brilliant band Hard to Handle.

Without a doubt, the stars of the evening were two of Tom’s friends who he met during treatment in London. Hannah Martin sent a wonderful message via video talking about the work of the Foundation and her story. Melissa Collidge, travelled all the way from Brighton to speak and had the audience fully engrossed by her story. You could hear a pin drop in the room. Having only been given 18 months to live in 2013, here she was with the most miraculous news that she was expecting her first child. There was not a dry eye in the house.

The Feather Ball was very much about getting our wonderful friends, family and highly valued supporters back together again. However, we hoped we could raise some money for the urgent cases we are funding presently.

Well, the guests did not disappoint and I am thrilled to announce they raised over £33,000.
A truly magnificent figure!
This will go on to help so many teenagers and young adults with cancer who are having a tough time.

There are so many people who help make this event the success it is. We really couldn’t do it without them. These include our incredible sponsors who we would like to thank publicly. Thank you SCOR, Aston Lark, This is Fever and Braxted Park Estates – you help make such a difference to the evening.

Finally thank you to all our guests for attending. Many of you told us it was the best one yet so no pressure for 2023!!

Make sure you pop next year’s date in the diary – Saturday 25th February 2023
