Julie’s Story

Julie is 24 years old and a mother of three children, 5 and under. They are a hardworking family and Julie was working full-time (prior to Covid) but on the minimum wage. Finances were already very tight. In 2019, Julie was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia. Just imaging having such a young family and having to try to run the household whilst going through gruelling treatment. The impact was huge. 

They came to us to see if we could help in anyway to alleviate some of this pressure. We gave some vouchers so that they could buy food, clothes and toys for the children. Little treats bring so many smiles. Then we organised a day out at an animal park. They were able to forget what was going on and have some fun.
